Spring . . .

Although we’re all glad when Spring comes, the sudden fluctation between warm and hot weather can annoy and upset your bunnies.

My wives thrive at about 60 degrees and start to melt at about 70.

By 85, they look like they’re about to have a stroke.

With pregnant bunnies and small kits, I want to make sure the temperature is comfortable for my sweethearts.

So here’s some small tricks I’ve find out about, and feel free to add your own.

Tips:

Fans – if your rabbits are close to the house, you could pull out an extension cord and set up fans for them. If your bunnies are really far away/huge barn/no fans, this plan doesn’t work.

Frozen water bottles – freeze water bottles over night, then place them in the rabbit’s cages the next day. They’ll appreciate something cool to snuggle up to.

Fresh greens - with lots of water are appreciate. Just not too much though!

If you’re wondering what your bunnies feel like, cover their ear with your hand and see how hot it feels.

That’s it’s temperature.
