New Rabbits
Spring time is busy around here! I’m not getting any kits, but I’m getting plenty of other rabbits!
To start with, two weeks ago on a Saturday I had:
1 buck – Gunsmoke, smoke pearl marten
3 does – Tinkerbelle, siamese sable, junior, Kelly, siamese sable, senior - preganant – Wish, black, senior - pregnant, and Whisper, siamese smoke pearl, senior - pregnant.
I sold Kelly because she would not mate.
Then I decided to get Lionheads and another Netherland Dwarf Buck.
Today my rabbitry more than doubled.
First off, the people who got Kelly decided they didn’t want her. She needs to be bred, she’s starting to be terriotoral, the only problem is she won’t breed! But she’s back up for sale.
Then I went to a show this morning to pick up my trio of lionheads. I said I was on ly getting two does, but I’m bad at not buying rabbits. I picked up two does and a buck. and are they ever adorable!
I can’t believe I didn’t get lionheads before! They’re amazing.
On our way out, we saw an adorable little black otter buck. Actually, he was big. Huge in fact. But he only weighed 1.17 lbs so I bought him. Hey, he was only $15!! Who could resist?
So that’s five more rabbits back.
And then two kits that were born two Sundays ago.
That pushes my rabbits up to 11.
And then I’m getting a buck on the 14th of June (before the kits are ready to leave.)
12 rabbits with only 12 cages . . . I’m pushing it.
