Updates!

So Alison fails at blogging, what else is new? Blame lots of school, lots of distractions, and a lack of a personal computer.

What’s new around the rabbitry? Glad you asked! (Except you didn’t but forget that)

1) Peter Pan is really Petra Pan – a doe! she’s still on hold though!

2) Sunkist never had a litter – *sigh* too bad!

3) Blackberry is building her nest! YAY!

4) Dad got a dry/wet vacumn for the bunny barn

5) I still have to clean up some cages. (oops!)

6) All the bunnies are absolute dolls now!

7) I set up my 12 cages . . . that makes 21 cages in the shed, 3 hutches and another indoor cage

8) I’m selling Capun Hook and TinkerBelle as a pair to a new breeder. I really like them both, but I want new breeders to have a good start and I feel like letting them go won’t set me back. Plus, instead of getting money for them, I get three kits from TinkerBelle in the future. YES!

That’s just about all I can think of off the top of my head . . . there’s more I’m sure!

I’m out of my low (thank goodness!) ttyl!

Low

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I’m at a rabbit low at the moment. Worn  out, I’ve been sickish all week and I don’t have energy. I feel like I’m losing my joy for rabbits because it’s becoming such a chore to take care of them. I’m hoping this Sat. to take some quality time and evaluate where I want to go with them.

For the moment, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite rabbitish things:

1) Seeing newborn kits nestled in their nest

2) The way Butter runs in circles whenever I come down the hill

3) The way the kits run to the front of the cage begging to come out

4) The way Sunkist puts her paws up daintily on her food bowl

5) The way Capun Hook attacks his serving scoop

6) The way my bunnies snuggle into me when they’re frightened

7) The sight of 18 happy bunnies eating, muching hay and drinking fresh water each morning

Those weren’t even hard to come up with! That’s a relief! =D I think I need to enjoy my rabbits more and take life easier . . .

Rabbitry news:

1) Getting a new doe! Teaberry’s Coconut Clusters – broken black brood doe (Thanks so much Morgan!)

2) Rebred Solar

3) Sunkist is due and 99% sure she’s pregnant but no kits yet

4) the kits have been seperated from their mom. I think Peter Pan may be a girl! :-o but I’ll have to double-check that later . . .

Picture Time!

ABC’s Peter Pan – he already has a sale pending *sniff*      ABC’s Pure Magic – just look at that head! And I love her ears!

isn’t she cute? I found them in a random file o_O

Thought you might enjoy the pictures . . . sorry for not posting a lot.

weeks just keep zipping by. I do school all day Monday – Friday. Finish around 7 or later and all I want to do is chill. Saturdays I do all bunnish things, homework and any hanging out with friends.

Sunday is church and chill. :)

So before you know it . . . ZOOM! another week gone!

I’ll probably be posting tomorrow though. ;)

ABC’s Little Boy Blue

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Little Boy Blue does not have to come back after all! He sounds like he’s living a very spoiled pet life and his owners graced me with some pictures of him.

Isn’t he adorable?

I told them he’d probably end up a nice show bunny, so far the only thing I’d fault him on is a rather triangular face. But he’s still young so he may fill out better

he has such nice hindquarters, good muscle and nice ears! (better seen in the first picture!) I almost wish I’d kept him, but I really don’t need the color – besides, he’s being spoiled rotten anyway!

Be Amazed!

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

I accomplished every thing on my To Do list except returning the water bottles! (which didn’t really need to be done – I’m just great at excuses!)

The frames for my cages are now up – that makes 8 more holes, unfourtanetly I have no pans – another thing for my to do list!

Wendy is picked up. I don’t think she could have gone to a better home. I would have let them have her for free. They seemed perfect!

The cages are cleaned – Oh yeah!

Bunny nails are trimmed – a big thanks to James who “volunteered” himself via mom to help me out

and last but not least – PICTURES!

You can visit “Our Rabbits” and “For Sale” and see pictures that aren’t over a year old (oh yes, I am amazing!)

Sadly, I only got one very bad picture of Georgia. :( The pictures (I decided) would not be squishing the rabbit into the show pose because it took so long. Instead, I just placed them all in baskets and mom shoot a few pics quickly.

Still, it’s pictures!

I’m off to chill – got a fever or something! :P

Also updated: Gunsmoke appears to be over his head tilt and Little Boy Blue won’t be coming back because of allergies (hopefully!)

To Do List

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Well, if any of you kept track, I didn’t get more pictures. Yup, that’s me!

I do, however, have a fairly large To Do List for tomorrow!

1) Set up new cages or at least stands. Dad worked on the stands today so this should be good! I like having cage space, makes me feel less perinoid!

2) Return water bottles – I ran out of water bottles with my new bunnies, and purchased 4 more, two different types. One of the types leaks so I need to return it. :P

3) Clean cages – no brainer

4) Clip ALL bunny nails – they’re getting WAY to long!

5) Wendy pick-up! Wendy’s going home! WOOT!

6) Take rabbit pictures! (for the site)

That’s it! Not too much, but not too little, especially since I have some homework I’d like to get done too!

I’ve been getting aprox. 3 emails about buying rabbits a day, too bad those people rarely keep up their interest. xD

The kits I’m still undecided about. I know I’m keeping the black doe, at least for a bit. The black otter doe has nice type but pretty bad ticking. I’m going to “wait and see” with her. The little buck is getting BIG. I don’t really go for big bucks. Advice on him and/or any of the kits is welcome!

Hope you week was great, and your weekend will be better!

Pictures

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

So I fail at taking pictures. Actually I took pictures yesterday, but it messed up trying to download them. If I have time today, I’ll take some.

Besides that, I’m leaning toward selling the buck of my litter since he’s so big. The otter doe could molt out of her bad color or not . . She might be a good brood doe even if she doesn’t. I know I want to keep the little black doe at least for one show . . .

That’s all. Quite sad, I know, but I’m always super busy on Wednesdays!

Stressfulness

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Well, although I got new bunnies this weekend, it was also filled with some bunny stress.

Gunsmoke, a retired bunny who went to live with a friend, now looks like he came down with Head tilt. gah.

Another bunny, Little Boy Blue, might be returning because his owner is allergic to something.

The kits I’m in a huge dilema over. I feel like I’d like to grow them all out, but I have some interested buyers I feel like I’d be letting down, and I feel like it’ll be a hassle to try to sell them later. grrr.

So I’m a bit stressed. When it’s written down, it doesn’t seem so bad though! :)

Posts on the new bunnies (including the fuzzy holland doe!) will be coming soon and hopefully pictures, my camera battery is recharging as we speak.

Waiting, just waiting . . .

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Well, I’m just waiting for my new rabbits.

Morgan and her mom were EXTREMELY kind and offered to drive 3 hours to my house this Saturday to drop off the bunnies, and pick up hers.

I got two “interested in” emails for my Netherland Dwarfs, and then one inquiry for Wendy. I really hope they decide to take her, they sound perfect and I want her to go to a great home (she was always my favorite LH)

That’s it! Not much new . . . the little kits have hopped out of the nestbox and entered the irresistable-yet-totally-wriggly stage.

Those darn kits!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Well, I’m totally stuck on those kits. I just plain can’t decide who to keep, who to sell, who’s a pet, who’s a show rabbit, etc, etc

I suppose since they’re not even three weeks I don’t *have* to decide yet. Maybe Morgan will help me decide. :-)

Other than that, I finally wrote up some rabbit pedigrees for people, set up four new cages so that my bunnies arriving Friday won’t live their lives in carriers xD and did weekly bunny chores. I tell you, I’m so glad I decided not to go big into another breed! I seriously don’t have the time anymore!

Hope you guys have/had a nice day! I’m off to do some more work!
